Olivia Hoffmann
CHAIR
Olivia has worked as the Marketing Manager for Jim Barry Wines for over 10 years, overseeing branding, communications, packaging and promotion both domestically and overseas. She completed market immersions in the USA and UK in 2010 before joining the Jim Barry team in Clare on a full time basis. In 2016, Olivia completed her Masters of Wine Business from the University of Adelaide. In addition to her work at the winery, Olivia now also manages the family’s accommodation business- Jim Barry Boutique Accommodation. Olivia is the Vice-Chair of the Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association. She has been a member of the South Australian Wine Industry Association Executive Committee since 2019 and is Chair of the SAWIA Marketing and Industry Development Committee.
Matt Schultz
BOARD MEMBER
Matt has spent most of his working career working in Finance and Management roles within the wine industry, manufacturing and Agri related Businesses in the Adelaide Hills. He moved to Clare Valley in 2015, where he works in the Senior Leadership team at Taylors Wines as Production Accounting Manager. He has a passion for the wine industry, tourism, and a strong interest in sustainability. Matt holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and has a broad range of experience spanning governance, business and strategic planning, projects, risk management, compliance & systems, work health & safety, HR, financial management and IT systems. He is also active in the community having represented on several school governing councils in various roles. Matt participated in the inaugural Clare Valley Wine & Grape Association’s Next Crop Leadership program in 2022 and looks forward to be an active Board Member.
Alister Sandow
GRAPEGROWER BOARD MEMBER
Alister has expanded his family’s large vineyard holding near Watervale, since joining full time in 2009. His whole career has been devoted to viticulture and he has worked internationally for Constellation Wines, including three years as a grower liaison officer in the Californian regions.
Alister returns as a grape grower representative on the CVWGA board in 2025.
Travis Fuller
An experienced senior executive with outstanding wine industry knowledge gained while working for the world’s largest premium wine producers. Travis has demonstrated ability across numerous business functions including marketing, production, finance, sales and distribution. He is highly strategic, commercially driven and results-oriented; combining a structured and creative approach in achieving effective teams and process management. Travis is an excellent public speaker and presenter: highly skilled at communicating complex concepts to broad audiences. Particularly strong at building engagement through story telling. He is recognised and respected within the premium wine industry as a highly knowledgeable player and international wine judge.
Ali Paulett
VICE CHAIR
Ali Paulett hold the position of Managing Director of Paulett Wines. Since taking on a leadership role, Ali has been instrumental in driving the winery’s success through strategic industry partnerships, government collaboration, and innovative business practices. Her ability to navigate the complexities of the wine industry has strengthened Paulett Wines’ position both nationally and internationally. Ali has played a key role in securing opportunities for growth, sustainability initiatives, and regional development, ensuring the business remains at the forefront of a competitive market. Recognized for her leadership, Ali was awarded the 2023 AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award for South Australia. She continues to champion collaboration between industry and government, working to enhance regional tourism, community engagement, and business resilience in an evolving landscape. Under her guidance, Paulett Wines continues to thrive, blending tradition with forward-thinking innovation.
Tania Matz
Board Member
Tania Matz is a dedicated advocate for the Clare Valley wine industry, with more than three decades of experience spanning administration, sales, marketing, events, and regional representation. Growing up in the Clare and Gilbert Valleys, Tania began her wine industry career in 1988 with Penfolds in the Barossa Valley, followed by a period with Lindeman’s in the Hunter Valley before returning to the Clare Valley in 1992. In 2011, Tania accepted a role with the Clare Winemakers Association, representing the region’s wine brands at a local, state and national level. In 2015, she was appointed Executive Officer, leading initiatives that delivered lasting benefits to the region. Today, as Tasting Room Manager at Knappstein Wines, Tania continues to combine her deep regional knowledge, industry expertise, and strong advocacy to promote the Clare Valley and its producers.
Daniel Willson
Independent Board Member
Dan is a senior executive with extensive experience across economics, commercial advisory, strategy and policy. He is currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North and has previously been Senior Economic Adviser to the Premier of South Australia, as well as Director at Deloitte Access Economics.
Dan’s career has involved working with governments, statutory corporations and listed and private companies to plan, design and implement major projects, policies and programs to grow economic activity and improve service delivery. He has spent considerable time over the past 15 years working across regional development, infrastructure, energy and resources, primary industries, treasury and finance, healthcare, tourism and government service sectors.
Sarah Castine
Independent Board Member
With a mixed viticulture and broadacre family farming background & 15 yrs experience in sustainable natural resource use, Sarah skills span natural capital protection & restoration to drive resilience in rural and coastal communities. Her leadership of the $12 million Resilient Reefs Initiative at the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, catalysed climate mitigation and adaptation action across communities across the Asia-Pacific. Sarah is a senior consultant in Pinion Advisory’s Sustainability Strategy team & is leading a review of the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework for MLA. She brings deep knowledge of the sustainability sector, including of key frameworks, metrics & methodologies & is adept at identifying sustainability initiatives that are practical and tailored to the local context & which drive meaningful environmental outcomes without stifling industry.
